Default setup
- Workspace database — EU region (Frankfurt) by default
- File storage — region-matched to your workspace region
- Transcripts and recordings — same region as your workspace
Residency preferences
If your industry or customer base requires specific data residency (e.g. UK-only, US-only, EU-only), we can configure your workspace to match. Mention it during onboarding and your Customer Success Manager will align the setup.
Third-party services
Kamva AI calls are proxied through providers that meet the same residency requirements. Notetaker recordings are stored in the workspace region.
No data in South Africa by default
Despite our operating base being in SA, your data is not stored in South Africa unless you specifically request it. This is a deliberate architectural decision to simplify GDPR and US compliance for our clients.
